Clean Beauty
Is your beauty routine nourishing you?! Our beauty routines are another way we can nourish ourselves.
Choosing hair, skin, and beauty products that are clean and high quality is essential as they support our overall health.
Did you know that the average woman applies around 500 chemicals/day?!
These chemicals are found in the personal care products (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, face wash, toothpaste, mouthwash, lotions, etc.…), beauty products (moisturizers, mascara, foundation, lipstick, etc.) and perfumes we apply. Our skin absorbs ~70% of what we apply topically and the skin on our faces has been found to be even more permeable.
Women’s endocrines systems and bodies are especially sensitive and vulnerable to the effects of these chemical ingredients found in so many skin and personal care products. That’s why it’s critical to choose simple, clean, and quality products that nourish our bodies and skin so we can look our best and feel comfortable in our skin.
Part of my health and wellness journey has been detoxifying my body, my home, my mind, and my products. The personal care and beauty products you use have the ability to support or compromise your health. There are so many brands that contain harmful ingredients that negatively impact your body and contribute to the toxic load in your brain and body. That is why it is essential to find and use clean products that truly support the body instead of contribute to the toxic load that perpetuates the symptoms, conditions, and/or illness(es) you may be experiencing. Prevention is best and I have seen the power in my own health that came with detoxing my products.
Because my journey has been unique to me I didn’t have a resource with recommended brands and information to refer to, I created one to save you the time and hassle of researching and reading countless ingredient lists to find high-quality brands with the purest ingredients.
I encourage you to look at the ingredient lists on your beauty products and see what’s in them. The more we know, the more we can do. As a consumer you can vote with your dollar and make choices that support your health.
I know this information can feel overwhelming. But the first step is just becoming aware. Change will happen in time and it’s most sustainable in small consistent steps. I believe that knowledge is empowering; it can inspire and motivate us to take action and begin to live less toxic and healthier lives so that we can enjoy them to the fullest while feeling our best.
What we apply on our skin gets absorbed into our bodies and filtered through the liver. There are so many chemical ingredients that our personal care and beauty products contain which then accumulate in our livers, lymph, and tissues.
I have compiled a list where I highlight trusted brands and some of my favorite products from each!

Deodorant
So many of the conventional deodorants on the market contain aluminum, a toxic heavy metal that accumulates in the brain, liver, and body, along with other toxic chemical ingredients that are absorbed directly into the lymph fluid via the axillary nodes beneath the underarm. Choosing clean, organic deodorant is an essential part of healing, cleansing your body, and creating radiant health.
